This weekend we’re looking forward to heading down to the V&A Museum for its blockbuster summer exhibition, British Design 1948-2012.
Celebrating the best of post-war art and design in Britain, from the 1948 ‘Austerity’ Olympic Games to the summer of 2012, the show brings together over 300 examples of iconic Brit design, including fashion and textiles, furniture, product design, ceramics and glass, graphics, photography, architecture, fine art and sculpture.
Highlights range from Jonny Rotten’s original Anarchy in the UK T-shirt to that ultimate evocation of the Swinging Sixties, the E-Type Jaguar. But most of all we’ll have our eyes peeled for the large range of Heal’s textiles on display. Who knew we printed fabrics by Zandra Rhodes? You live and learn.
The exhibition runs until Sun 12 August.
