Qlock Two

It’s hard to imagine setting out to reinvent something as iconic and already-much-tinkered-with as the clock, but that’s exactly what German design wizards Biegert & Funk did with their award-winning QLOCKTWO. The result is more than just a clock; it’s a work of art.

Here’s the science. QLOCKTWO is a clock that tells time in words. Instead of a dial (so last century!) it has an illuminated quadratic matrix of letters. Or, in non-geek terms, rows of letters that make up words when lit up. At five minute intervals the clock reads, for example, ‘It is halfpast eight.’ If you’re after more accurate timing (boiling an egg, perhaps?)you can look at the illuminated dots in the corner which display individual minutes.

At Heal’s you can order QLOCKTWO in 10 different language variations, so it’s worth remembering that we can now offer delivery to anumber of European destinations: Republic of Ireland, France, Germany, Holland,Belgium and Luxembourg. We also stock QLOCKTWO’s cute little sister, QLOCKTWO TOUCH, a precision table clock with an alarm function. Which means that now youcan wake up to a work of art every morning.

Below is a video of QlockTwo being made:
